Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 30 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

With two workouts to go, I’ve achieved the goal I set out to do. Those 2 or 3 minutes over everyday added up!

It's been a slog to get here. The yoga on day 12 was a struggle. Having to get tactical to decide which bit of me isn't aching. However, the weather has been good to me and I've managed a few runs along oriental bay. 14 days to go...

Day 7 - 30 mins of pilates
Day 8 - 30 min run
Day 9 - 30 min weight training
Day 10 - 30 min evening run
Day 11 - 30 min morning weight training
Day 12 - 30 min morning yoga
Day 13 - 30 min evening pilates
Day 14 - 30 min lunch run
Day 15 - 30 min afternoon run 
Day 16 - 30 min morning weight training

A massive thank you to my Welsh friends who took me to my goal. Especially thankful as their donations are helping Kiwis on the other side of the world to them.


A bit of any update on my activities:
Day 3 - 30 minutes of morning Pilates
Day 4 - 30 more minutes of morning Pilates (ouch)
Day 5 - 30 minute lunchtime run around oriental bay
Day 6 - 30 minutes of free weights
