This is my third year sweating

I’m sweating to take a stand against discrimination and create real change

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising an average of at least 45 (Edit: now 80!) minutes a day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Day 7-18 of Sweat with Pride (roughly weeks 2-3):

  • 💦 Exceeded my “sweat goal”, so I’ve extended it to av. 80 mins / day! :D


Activities over the past 12 days:

Sweat with Pride has pushed me out of my comfort zone the past couple weeks with first time Contact Improv 💃(2 day dance-like workshop with the sensational Eliza Sanders, who has a movement + creative writing workshop this weekend “Poetry in Motion” (Pōneke) I’ll be at, that you can also join!), first time 7am Yoga class 🧘‍♀️, cold swimming 🏊‍♀️, pilates 🤸‍♀️, plus more excuses to bike 🚴‍♀️and walk🚶‍♀️(in a wide range of weather hahaha). 


Finally the sun is back, so here’s a pic of me in the sun! Also grateful for wonderful friends who introduced this night owl 🌝🌙 to dawn yoga + cold swimming combos last week!! (And I’m very grateful!!) I think we’re gonna go again tomorrow!

Windy, Woolly, Wet Adventures!

How have you been so far this rainy/windy June? 😅💨☔️


It’s been a wild and woolly start to Sweat with Pride this year hasn’t it! 🌪🌈 💦


Nevertheless, I’ve appreciated the extra push to get outdoors or move my body, including some new things, out of my comfort zone!

So far I've biked almost daily in a wide range of weather conditions 🚴‍♀️😂, swum in the ocean 🏊‍♀️ had my first 7am in-person yoga class amidst rain 🧘‍♀️ and my first live online Pilates class🤸‍♀️ (both very out of character, especially early mornings for this night owl!), danced alone to a live swing band 💃, walked 🚶‍♀️, and done an epic 2-day physical theatre intensive! 🎭

I'm sure you've all be braving rain / exercise in your own ways too! 😅
