Pretty chill today. A nice walk to work on a chilly morning. I had an Uncle visit me tonight, so had a relaxing mobility session with a short dance improvisation to end the evening.
This is my third year sweating
I’m sweating for life-changing Rainbow support services
Why I’m Sweating with Pride
I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈
Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.
So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.
This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Today I had a magical afternoon dancing at Warrington Beach with the Sealion Women. We all came back to my home for food and to watch the film edit of the Saltines for Sealion Women performance by Carol Brown (Caroline Plummer Fellow, University of Otago, Ōtākau Whakaihu Waka).
I had an active day today! I took my three year old to her dance class. Then later I performed with my inclusive dance group GASP! Dance Trust, for the IHC Association Forum. This was a joyful experience. I haven't danced with GASP! in such a long time. In small groups we played between stillness and movement, weaving in and out of each other, and passing movement from one group to the next. I ended the busy day with a quick cardio session.
I attended a fun lunch time class with Carol Brown. We explored the Sealion movement progressions into the water! This evening, after a quick barre warm up, I played with echo's of the midday class. I found some lovely music on my feed by Rebekah Reid.
No sweating today. My little one fell asleep in the car on the way home from daycare which means late bedtime and no dancing or exercise😢😴
I had a lovely walk at lunch time with members of the Rainbow Staff Network. Then ended the evening with a short audio improvisation class by inclusive dance company Stop Gap. They have a range of free dance series on YouTube, called at Home Practice: https://youtube.com/@stopgapdanceco?si=ImBsWNjmf3xe2dtF
I tried a Heels beginners course on Dance Master Class. I do not ever wear 👠 so yeah it was a challenge. I needed a bit of free movement after that so I did an intuitive movement class on the same app. Two very different approaches, but both equally fun and challenging.
Whoop whoop I made it to $100 in donations! Today I was feeling tired after a bad sleep so I had rest day. A short walk to work in the morning and ended the day with a relaxing 10 minute stretch. Some evenings I like to recharge on the couch with some knitting, just as important as jumping around and getting sweaty!
Today another 305 fitness dance cardio video! The theme of the class was 'express yourself'! One of my fav videos - lots of hips and body rolls and just high energy fun. I finished off the session by practising Kate Bush's Withering Heights choreo.
On Saturday's I take my 3.5 year old to dance class. I love seeing her confidence grow the more she attends. Today she had a big smile on her face as she bounced around the room.
Today I attended a studio dance class. Carol Brown's sealion women winter workshops. Rolling, hauling, landing, breath & movement through the top of my head. I love rolling, and rolling sequences. I love melting into the floor and and feeling secure in the ground.
A mish mash of fun tonight! Some dance cardio and a short flexibility routine. I also practised the Wuthering Heights dance for our local Kate Bush Dance Day 2025! I've been wanting to join this event for the past few years, so I'm excited to be finally learning the choreo.
I was back learning part two of the beginners Jazz choreo, harder steps today but soo much fun. My lonely cafe character found a pal and steps bought on a more playful feel. 🥰
Today was a 30 min dance cardio workout with 305 Fitness (https://www.305fitness.com/). A super fun, energetic dance fitness on demand service. With heaps of queer and poc instructors!
Today I continued with Dance Master Class (online) beginner intro to Jazz. I learnt a short choreo about being lonely at a cafe. I ended with a short arms workout.
Dancing in the beach with Carol Brown, this year's Caroline Plummer Fellow.
That looks so fun! I wanna join in.
