This is my second year sweating

I’m sweating for life-changing Rainbow support services

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Updates

Nearly 4 hours today!

Friday 20 June 2025

Today's exercise was mostly spent mowing the lawns, which took me about 3 hours thanks to all those weeks of rain and relative warmth, followed by a couple of weeks of not being able to get out and mow them while I was sick.  The grass was very long and very wet!  And then once the lawns were done, I started pulling ivy off the tree, which was a real workout!  All up, 3 hours and 50 minutes of gardening today - I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

Now that the weather and my health have both improved, I can get back into some serious early morning walks to work. With the added bonus of beautiful views like this one!

So much for the good start

Monday 9 June 2025

I started so well... and then I got Covid :-(  I'm over the worst of it now, but still feeling rough, so I'll be keeping the exercise pretty gentle over the next week or two.  But I'm still determined to do as much as I can!

Day 1 off to a good start
