Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

It matters to me that many LGBTQIA+ Kiwis aren't safe in NZ schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of discrimination, mental illness and suicide.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising at least 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

We should all be able to expect fairness and equity! I'd be really grateful if you could chip in something to urge me on and help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Last Day of the Challenge Mon 30 June

I've stuck with my commitment to exercise every day. I missed 2 days when I had too much planned, and so did extra on other days to try to compensate.

I don't have much free time today, so I grabbed 30 mins to take a walk instead of lunch. Auckland weather got me!

A Good Start

Despite today’s change of weather, I spent yesterday and today getting stuck into two different gardens. Tomorrow the harder part of the challenge begins for me - reserving time for this and committing to it on top of a long work day, some other daily time commitments I have made, and a family event.

I’m a newbie at this sponsored activity thing. Some days are going to be really hard to fit even my minimum time in, but I’m determined to give this my best shot, because the people who I can help are worth it!
