This is my first year sweating

I’m sweating for life-changing Rainbow support services

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and have limited access to gender affirming health care.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me and affected me personally. I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

I wouldn't ask you to do something I haven't already done myself.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Wow!! Thank you!

Wednesday 18 June 2025

Wow!! I am blown away by the support I've recieved doing this great cause! Thank you everyone who has donated directly to the site or purchased a pride crochet item as a way of donating. I didn't expect to reach my fundraising goal, let alone double it!! You are all amazing xx

This is my WHY

Wednesday 28 May 2025

I figured as the days get closer I should probably go away little bit more in detail as to why I think this is such a great cause.

I know some of you may already know this and have been supporting me through this journey over the last few years, but I have been taking steps to becoming happier within myself. What does this actually mean?
Well, I have become more comfortable with my gender identity and truly resonate with calling myself non-binary. For me this means that I don't feel connected to either female or male identification. Although, I don't really mind what pronouns people call me, however if I get asked I will confidently say my pronouns are They/Them.

For the last 3 years I have been taking steps to being happy with how my body represents this on the outside, as well as how I feel on the inside. I have been having testosterone injections as well as other medications to assist with this. My next step gender affirming top surgery, however it is a difficult process to access this through the public system and a very expensive surgery to get privately.

Part of the requirements for government funded surgery is to have a BMI less than 30, which has been particularly difficult for me due to other medical conditions and medications I have been dealing with. So, I am hoping by joining the Sweat with Pride movement I can use this as a way to getting closer to my personal goal as well as raising money for support services for LGBTQIA+. I will be posting my progress through out the month as a way of keeping myself accountable.

Thank you for making it this far, if you're able to donate even just the price of a coffee to show your support that would be fantastic 🥰

Exercise ideas

Friday 16 May 2025

So I'm starting to think of things I can do as I don't have a gym membership to go exercise, but I do have a lazy dog that could do with a walk more often and youtube where I can get at home workouts. No excuses right? It's only 21 minutes a day.
