Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June by being part of the Vic SVA team! 💦🌈

From a personal viewpoint, there are a couple of people I know who are proudly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and yet I hear from them many stories of being discriminated against, especially in the digital realm.  It is disappointing to hear that most of the perpetrators brush it off "as a joke", which is really unacceptable and does not reparate the harm that was caused.

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! Everyone is a human being after all, and so all of us should have rights to our lives ❤️

10 days into SWP

Wednesday 11 June 2025

Kia ora koutou,

Wow - can you believe that we're already one third of the way through June and SWP? Time flies super quick for sure.

Like many others, I am in the trenches right now, preparing for the upcoming (well, now really) exam period. It has been super busy; however this does not stop me from moving and sweating it all out!

These past few days have been rather cold, windy and rainy, so why not do the sweating under the roof? To mark 10 days into SWP, I was given the task of deep cleaning the kitchen, which to be fair, was a heck of a mission. ~30 minutes later, I did get most of the cleaning done, but my heroes (parents) stepped in and finished the job for me.

Here's to more drier and warmer days ahead of us! Keep your eyes peeled up for the day 15 update :)

5 days into SWP

Kia ora koutou!

This is just a brief update of my SWP journey this month. I am not going to be particularly active with these updates but I hope to make more at the 10-day mark, 20-day mark, and the last day of June.

On another note, I definitely have been moving! Doing all sorts of sports, housework, walks and runs, lifting weights - you name it! Didn't get any photos of me in action so far but do definitely catch me with at least a couple in the next update.

Let's do this! Keep sweating, all of you Sweaty Betty's ;)
