Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Sweating through an Injury

Wednesday 17 June 2026

Unfortunately Sweat with Pride hasnt been ideal timing for my body but I am trying to mix it up with my exercise types.

Be prepared for some serious exercise variety next week when I head on holiday to sunny warm Fiji! There will be plenty of balance and control work like stand up paddle-boarding in the lagoon which is coincidentally great ankle injury rehab.

Coming off two rugby injuries to start the month wasn't easy. First was the abdominal/hip pain thanks to strains in my psoas and iliacus and then a high grade ankle injury which left me hobbled. Luckily I am seeing the end of that and have been cleared by Ben, my great physical therapist, to restart rugby tonight!

I am still going to ease back into it because, despite what my brain says, I'm not as young as I once was.

Time to finish out the month strong!
