This is my 3rd
year sweating

I’m sweating for life-changing Rainbow support services

I raised $1,130
last year

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 50 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Day 30

Tuesday 30 June 2026
Blog image

Double footy training tonight, and my body has definitely been screaming for a rest day. I've been doing this fundraiser for three years now, and it honestly hasn't gotten any easier. But I'm grateful to be able to give back to the community, and even more grateful for the support around me and a body that allows me to keep showing up. To all my fellow Sweaty Bettys - you bloody legends. I'm so proud of everything we've achieved together

Day 29

Monday 29 June 2026
Blog image

Emptying the empty tank 😬 steps and stairmaster for today

Day 28

Sunday 28 June 2026
Blog image

Tough battle today against a strong opponent. Ended up with a hit to the face and my non-working hip taking another knock. Somehow escaped the collision without a card

Day 27

Saturday 27 June 2026
Blog image

Late night gym sesh. Keeping my daily sweat minutes. Last three days!

Day 26

Friday 26 June 2026
Blog image

Badminton Fridays. Still getting the hang of the racket's range. Wins? Lost count. The shrieking and screaming - certainty

Day 25

Thursday 25 June 2026
Blog image

Footie training then sauna. The perfect way to slow down, breathe, and ease into the end of the day.

Day 24

Wednesday 24 June 2026
Blog image

Dollar Match Day! Grateful for all the help and support I received from colleagues and friends - they helped me reach my fundraising goal. I also had a little help from my gym buddy today. Both of us arrived drained and defeated, but a little side quest turned things around. She was just happy I didn’t win a single round

Day 23

Tuesday 23 June 2026
Blog image

Current state of my body after non stop exercising for 23 days. One more week of sweating.

Day 22

Monday 22 June 2026
Blog image

Mixed resistance training today. Took it a little easier on the weights as recovery from the weekend is still questionable. Bonus: finally getting some sauna time to help the body bounce back.

Day 21

Sunday 21 June 2026
Blog image

Tough game against the league leaders today. Started in the rain, finished in the sunshine. Happy to come away with a clean sheet

Day 20

Saturday 20 June 2026
Blog image

Feeling a little dusty today, but the workout got done. My socks made the decision on what we were training. Added a 40-minute sauna session afterwards to negotiate with last night’s party choices.

Day 19

Friday 19 June 2026
Blog image

Cardio class as the finisher for the week

Day 18

Thursday 18 June 2026
Blog image

Thursdays are for padel. I mean every other Thursdays. Managed to squeeze in an upper body session at BFT before a 90-minute hit with the Albany ladies. Plenty of laughs and giggles along the way, even with the rain rolling in and the temperature dropping. A great way to spend a Thursday.

Day 17

Wednesday 17 June 2026
Blog image

Birthday workout - checked. Birthday burpees - checked (well, halfway hehe). Someone got tired halfway through, but we made up for it with a hearty dinner and family time

Day 16

Tuesday 16 June 2026
Blog image

Three workout Tuesdays. Had three breakfast to fuel me for the day.

Day 15

Monday 15 June 2026
Blog image

Half way mark! Cardio class and a wee walk tonight.

Day 14

Sunday 14 June 2026
Blog image

Smashed second week of sweat with pride with an early walk and a full game of footie. Happy to get away with a clean sheet and a couple battle scars from the game

Day 13

Saturday 13 June 2026
Blog image

Busy day at the office. Got some heavy lifting done before my brain fully woke up. Winter is definitely making those morning workouts tougher.

Day 12

Friday 12 June 2026
Blog image

That Friday feeling. I’ve finally got the foundations in place for both of my challenges at the same time, and I’m starting to gain some real traction. A few of my gym mates have already asked about the fundraising, and some of the girls from my footy team are keen to get involved too - although I suspect the opportunity to punish me might be part of the appeal.

Day 11

Thursday 11 June 2026
Blog image

Compulsory cardio class followed by footie training. The next 19 days will be harder - but we get to move.

Day 10

Wednesday 10 June 2026
Blog image

Body’s a bit knackered from yesterday’s workout. Upper body class at BFT and rest. Another big day of sweating tomorrow

Day 9

Tuesday 9 June 2026
Blog image

Dollar Match Day! We’ve raised over $600 in just 12 hours - absolutely insane. A big big thanks to my generous sponsors for believing in me and supporting this amazing cause. To celebrate this - I didn’t do one, not two, but THREE workouts today! That’s 186 minutes of sweating, pushing, and moving for our Rainbow Community. 🌈 I’m so grateful to be able to do this and to have such amazing support behind me. Gracias!!

Day 8

Monday 8 June 2026
Blog image

Tried a new exercise at the gym today. Anything unfamiliar comes with a bit of discomfort, but I'm always open to learning something new. Maybe I'm just not used to lifting baby weights

Day 7

Monday 8 June 2026
Blog image

Week one done! Treated myself to a nice walk, weights and stairs session after stuffing my face with ramen. Rinse and repeat for next week

Day 6

Saturday 6 June 2026
Blog image

Hectic work week and almost drained all my energy. Had to drag my ass to the gym for a late night session. Loved every minute of it - though the face says otherwise.

Day 5

Friday 5 June 2026
Blog image

It’s International Donut Day! An effective way to get more reps using the ab roller.

Day 4

Thursday 4 June 2026
Blog image

Swapped footy training for padel tonight. This sport is teaching me patience - apparently not every ball is begging to be smashed. A lot of sorry was given to my partner tonight

Day 3

Wednesday 3 June 2026
Blog image

Putting the fun in fundraising. No men were harmed in this stunt. Side effects included laughter and mild trauma

Day 2

Tuesday 2 June 2026
Blog image

Soccer training with the first team. It rained a bit during the session which is much needed. I thought I’m going to overheat from all that running

Day 1

Monday 1 June 2026
Blog image

Sweat-maxxing banking 150mins for King’s bday. And it’s leg day - all time favourite day. Great way to start Sweat for Pride 🦵

Donation made! You are doing an incredible job, Ivy. As a valued donor, I’d like to submit an official request for one week (starting today) of compulsory stretching at BFT. Recent investigations have revealed that certain members (definitely not me) are avoiding stretching at all costs and are in serious danger of turning into fossils. Thank you for your consideration of this important community health initiative. Keep being awesome!
