Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 🌈.... finishing the month in Wellington at the Wellington Half  Marathon on my 41st birthday 

So a little  sweet incentive for any beautiful people sponsoring me flick me a message with a body combat release (58-101) you want me to do in your honor and I'll dedicate a day to you!  Les Mills Body Combat is my release each day to stretch out and strengthen  my muscles 💪  it's a fantastic 30-55 minute workout i do alongside running and will be a big part of my sweating journey!


Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 60 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

My birthday, Wellington Half Marathon the day I've been training for! Walk to the Marathon then the marathon itself.
Was a big day, didn't go perfect not gunna lie, but was awesome none the less, and i enjoyed seeing Wellington  in all its glory putting  on a great event, I meanbtheee was several bridges i knew nothing  about pre race but well thts another story. Then went out for a mean as meal for dinner and up to mt Victoria justbto see the view later on. And tomorrow  is the final day of Sweat with Pride and dollar match day so if you wanna make a donation my way do it about 8am ( hint hint love you)

Well tomorrow is the day I've been working for so today we chilled and done some walking round Te Papa , oh what a wonderful amazing place! Then a curry and cake night to celebrate  mine and Josies birthdays now im literally laying in a giant bed in a motel in Wellington city ready for race tomorrow really can't wait!

Travel day 2 but got couple things done first. Balance 80 and a walk up John Wilson with Dad. Then last minute jobs and off to the airport for my trip to Wellington, now chilling with my other family in Wellington!

My mums birthday 🎂.  Also travel day number one. Very slow day but I still got what was needed done for my lead up to what is coming faster by the day. Balance 105 done this morning then a wee walk at lunchtime with Mum in Balclutha  while Dad worked. Now in Dunedin, Fly out to Welly tomorrow, very exciting!

Wow even when im taking it easy im still busy hustling in minutes cos I've been moving so much for so long my body can't be still. Oh well couple travel days coming so no choice soon. I got up and packed this morning then smashed out Balance 95, my body is really enjoying the yoga, the stretching feels amazing and I hope it will aide in both my running and recovery come Sunday, I know it has definitely helped my mental health and keeping me calm leading up to what will be an amazing getaway as well as event. I then walked to town, the gym and had a sauna and done some jobs, before meeting mum and dad. Wandered town with dad later in day too. Very relaxing to be honest and first time in months I haven't hit 50 zone mins in a day. When I got home my beanie had arrived so im happy as cos I can wear that when I run on Sunday!

First of slow days and I actually did slow down today, and it was odd... started the day with Combat ( only cos new release ) 102, hit up balance 80 then popped to gym for Sprint rocking in my 30th class for the 21 classes in 21 days challenge finale, then jumped in the sauna... damn that's good before meeting mum and dad since they down woohoo...
Proudly say Im sitting in the top 10 sweaters in the country , quite an achievement for little old me in Invers if I must say and I will complete 6000 sweat mins before the 30th even wothbthe slowing down , the marathon will help!

My last full training day then more relaxing less doing.... although the 4 hrs on couch is definitely  a good start at relaxing! Started the day super early for a nice  early walk to gym for RPM then home for a coffee and sort some stuff before back to gym for Sauna booking, oh heck yes that is literally the best! Then I chilled till mid afternoon before deciding  to get my A into G again do Combat 64 head back to gym for Sprint and Pump and then call it a night after a chilly walk home .....

Wow things are moving fast...not me so much anymore ive definitely slowed  down a lot it's good and necessary. Did hit 5000 mins though!Still got a bit of sweat on today walked to gym, warmed up a bit on treadmill, hit up Step, Pump and Balance before a very wet walk home before doing combat 58 at home and chilling with Franki and Netflix ( Ginny and Georgia is quite interesting)

Good day, had some Sweat time and some family time! Definitely the best combos when you have week before something  you're working towards.  Started day walking to the gym for RPM and BodyPump  then off for a coffee with the little cuzzy Journey before we met Dad and Hamish at the football.  Then I headed home for Combat 67 and Balance 95 for stretch out before blobbin out watching tv ...this relaxing thing is wierd....

This time next week ill be at the bottom of the opposite  island of this very wet country! Countdown to Wellington is on.... 
Anyway real talk....slightly  slower day but still pushing it just more stretching and gentle natured rewarding exercises for my body.  Started day at gym on the treadmill  and little weight work. Then walked home to do Combat 65 and BodyBalance  106, then housework and relaxing feels good.

What a yuck day! The weather really changed to eww today... and the countdown  to marathon  is about  to become single digits! All that aside i achieved a lot today i got up went for a walk, then a run, then went to Sprint at lunchtime, home to do some housework meal prep and Combat 84 , before back to gym for Rpm and Balance rounding out the 21 classes in 21 days ( well  10 in my case) challenge  complete, although ill do some more over weekend for training.  I truly can't thank the trainers enough , Paula, Reece , Grace and Len have made every class awesome and off course the other people in the class!

Wow what a day, and i dont just mean mine ,so many Sweaty Bettys 🌈💦  made a difference today with double dollars my brother Hamish Philip for one hit his fundraising  goal! So proud of him and super stoaked that I get to see first hand him running Queenstown Half Marathon  in a kilt! I'll be sure to take plenty of photos at the start line for everyone  to see! 
My day was also my last working day of the season,  i started my day with Combat 101 since I was up earlier and it was chilly! Then after work a wee run and then off to the gym for Sprint 39 and BodyPump  133, which takes my gym comp to 18/21 and I should successfully complete the 21 tomorrow  evening!  After today's efforts my total sweat mins for the month  have surpassed double my initial goal now so im on track to triple it as I wanted....
Definitely dont do things by halves in my family!

Wow this month is flying by....in sweat! I literally have so many things happening it's crazy! Work finishes tomorrow  for the season, im we'll into the gym competition....read on...and well this....this right here is turning into the best training I could ever had hoped for for Wellington.  Cold start so elliptical time! Then off to work i went, home for spot of combat 70! Then of to the gym for Rpm  ( class 15/21) and BodyBalance (16/21) ...love the stretch ..... and a very very cold walk home !

Tomorrow is double dollars day so please if you still wanna show me some love and some love for those campaign donate and the money be doubled ( after 8am)

Little bit of slowing down so to speak but not really , mostly just cos I had work today lmao! Anyway wee run before work, then hit the gym after work for new release 39 Sprint ! And then BodyPump before walking home and doing Body Combat  62! Only 2 days left of work and about 8-9 left before I need to chill pre marathon ( I'll still be sweating  just in a more chilled sense).  Feel pretty proud to be one of top ten sweaters in the country.....or maybe that makes me crazy i dunno?? ...HALFWAY!

Wow so today, we are halfway thru the challenge and now only 2 weeks out from Wellington Half! Started my day off heading to the gym to smash out some more classes in the 21 in 21 challenge  (12/21 now) and also continue to work on my full body strength for endurance in the marathon. So today started  with Bodystep ( I didn't even arse over!! IYKYK)  then Pump and BodyBalance ( body is loving the stretch outs!) Then a wee wander round for coffee and home, out for run and then thought Id look to find a Combat I hadnt done and found a remix in the invincible series I hadn't done so did that. Feeling really proud of what I've achieved in the challenge  so far and how im tracking towards the marathon.

Another big day that begun in best way possible walked to the gym for new releases, RPM 106 and Pump 133 both smashed out first thing! Then walked to run some errands and come home for a run and combat 61! Massive day and I was doing housework and relaxing before 330!

So today is a bit different  as it was also Bandana Day for Canteen Aotearoa  so I did my best to incorporate my new Bandanas into my sweating throughout  my day!
 Started the day realizing id made the top 10 sweaters list overnight ( my sweat mins upload from my fitbit overnight) so that was a sweet surprise. Started my sweating today with a run, a good stretch session, an infrared sauna at the gym then caught up with my girls for coffee! Then home for Combat 73 as chosen by Richard Sadler  thanks for the donation!  And then I thought id try Dance #1 on demand ....turns out im not really coordinated enough for that lmao! Definitely  ticking along nicely.

No work today so I utilized the day as much as I could.... big day... a run and combat 80 to begin...the off to the gym for  sprint, run some errands in town, home to make some fresh hot soup for later then back to the gym for Rpm and BodyBalance,  wee walk home now time for tht soup....feel awesome! For those watching my posts that take me to 7/21 classes done in the gym comp and well over 2200 minutes sweated

Boom! And I surpassed my 1800 monthly mins goal (60 mins per day x30 days) ....now the fun goal is how many times can I do it 3 maybe?? 5400??  So today I had some walking, a Sprint class , a BodyPump class ( tht was hard work after so long away) , and I did 30min ceraion of Combat 66 for good measure hehe why not I got a couple days off and time to train i should use it

19 days till Welly half which leaves approx 14 days training time give or take.... work is slowly  coming to an end and the gym just started the 21 classes in 21 days comp perfect!
So big day today started with a wee run in -2° weather before work, smashed out a short 30 min Combat 69 before heading to the gym for Rpm and BodyBalance   before rugging up warm and  walking home again

Needed to calm it a little been pushing hard and have a few hard days training planned ahead, so had two choices today, push hard and risk it or give myself one last rest(ish) day before a big last push before Welly.... I chose the later... just a wee walk, work  and Combat 60  not too much for me...im well over 75% past my sweat mins goal for the month let alone Only 9 days in so I'm happy!

With only 3 weeks till Wellington  Half  Marathon   and   a super cold Sunday at home a good as hour long run in the yard, then Combat 63 picked at random by a friend for me, some housework smashed out then BodyBalance 105 which was just what the body ordered great stretch out and relax before chilling in front the TV

 Busy and cold Saturday  to round out the first week of the challenge been absolutely freaking awesome! I've loved it ...some of the first week totals are awesome!

Wet start to the day so bit of mix up to how I got my minutes in , Quick half an hr on the elliptical before work , wee run after work before my own chosen combat 68 today... ( one of my favorites, any combatter will know that track 5/6/7 combination  is amazing)

Wow what a day! 
Started the day off with a run, was trying to wait till it warmed up a little bit I waited a little  to long and ended up roasting! Oh well just a short 3.7km in the heat (25 mins).  Did combat 69 for one of the anonymous  donations ive had ( asked a close friend  to choose) so that was another 57 mins sweating. Then this afternoon  I thought why waste the sun and went on an adventure.... 3 hrs and 14.17km later I returned from my walk and did my meal prep for the week ahead feel awesome!
