Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I’m taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

As an Anglican priest, I believe deeply that every person is made in the image of God and worthy of dignity, safety, and love. I also have very little patience for discrimination dressed up as morality or tradition. Too many LGBTQIA+ people still move through schools, workplaces, churches, and even healthcare settings without feeling safe- and that has real consequences.

Rainbow communities in Aotearoa continue to face higher rates of mental distress, suicide, and illnesses like HIV, mpox, and syphilis. That’s why this June I’m fighting discrimination with perspiration: exercising for 21 minutes every day to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.
