This is my second year sweating

I’m sweating to celebrate and uplift my Rainbow whānau

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Heavy lifting after recovery

Sorry, no clever title!

As some may not know, for years I've been dealing with DeQuervains Tenosynovitis (basically, the tendon that goes from the wrist to the thumb gets inflamed and rubs against the tendon sheath). I'd had multiple cortisone injections but as of December last year? I was in so much pain, I couldn't grip, couldn't pick up simple things and couldn't draw more than 15 minutes (aside from being a drag king, I also am an illustrator working on a graphic novel), most shows in Auckland pride I was turning up in a splint which I'd take off for my actual performance and put back on after.

I had surgery to release the tendon in March and recovery has taken some time (6 months to fully heal), but my wrist/thumb is feeling better than it has in FOREVER!  And yesterday, I did my first full upper body work out since late last year.  I have to modify things a bit here and there, but it felt really good!

So, sponsor me in Sweat with Pride this year to encourage me in getting my strength back after a long battle with my wrist/thumb and surgery!
