Pride Unleashed
This is my 2nd
year sweating
I’m sweating to take a stand against discrimination and create real change
Why I’m Sweating with Pride
I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈
Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.
So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.
This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Walkies with Pride
This kaupapa isn’t new to me. It’s something I’ve been showing up for over the years, both in my role and out in the community.
As a Police officer working closely alongside our Pasifika and wider communities, I’ve seen the impact that discrimination, exclusion, and lack of safe spaces can have. For many in our Rainbow and Takatāpui whānau, safety and belonging are not guaranteed. That reality sits with me.
So I choose to show up.
This is my second year taking part in Sweat with Pride, and I’m stepping back in with purpose. I’ll be committing to 21 minutes of movement every day in June to support services that genuinely change lives.
And I’m not doing it alone.
My trusty sidekick Nuka has been part of this journey from the start. She’s spent the last two years turning heads and winning hearts at Drag Fest at the Regent, quickly becoming a bit of a community favourite. If you know, you know. Now we’ve added her daughter Piko to the team, so it’s a full whānau effort this year.
Back in 2024, Nuka and I took on this challenge together, walking for people like Luca. His story stuck with me. After transitioning, he faced real fear stepping back into the world as his authentic self. With support from the Burnett Foundation, he found his footing again through counselling and peer support. That’s the kind of impact this kaupapa has.
This isn’t about ticking a box. It’s about backing something that matters. Visibility matters. Support matters. Showing up matters.
If you’re in a position to support, I’d genuinely appreciate it. Every dollar goes toward services that provide safety, advocacy, and real support for people who need it.
And if nothing else, know this. I’ll be out there every day in June, moving with purpose, backed by two very enthusiastic dogs, doing my part.
